Literacy Quebec attended a few events lately, including:
- Connected Communities: Harnessing Innovative Practices for Greater Impact conference organized by McGill University’s ScienceReach and co-sponsored by the Quebec Community Groups Network and the Community Vitality Roundtables. The forum was an occasion to discuss how to improve the capacity of the English speaking community actors to improve on local data production and knowledge-sharing best practices, and included a panel discussion on community led data initiatives with representatives from QCGN, QUESCREN and CHSSN.
- Roundtable discussion with the Secretariat for relations with English-speaking Quebec, as part of the SRQEA’s consultation mandate. As part of its Federal liaison role the SRQEA is involved in facilitating and making recommendations regarding Canada-Quebec agreements in Education. Twenty or so organizations from various English-language services and networks voiced their observations, priorities and concerns regarding sustainable practices to best support our community and the different needs and barriers that diverse demographics might face in different regions.
